Alisha: This is Must-Know Afrikaans Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 19. In this lesson you'll learn some expressions for frustrating situations.
Alisha: Here are some expressions that you might find appropriate in frustrating or difficult situations.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:

Dewan: duim vashou
Alisha: Dewan, what's our first expression?
Dewan: 'n wit olifant
Alisha: This literally means "a white elephant." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it refers to something that has no purpose.

Alisha: This literally means "the day that has been hit." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "the whole day."
