Alisha: This is Must-Know Afrikaans Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 7. In this lesson you'll learn Slang on Campus.
Alisha: Students and other people often use these phrases when the going gets tough, when something is difficult and success is not guaranteed.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Dewan: vrek moeilik
Dewan: klas draf
Dewan: duik in die hek
Dewan: die mas opkom
Alisha: Dewan, what's our first expression?
Dewan: vrek moeilik
Alisha: This literally means "die difficult." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "very difficult."
Dewan: [SLOW] vrek moeilik [NORMAL] vrek moeilik

Alisha: This literally means "dive into the gate." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to fail."
